At the height of the heat wave, in late June, surface temperature on the ITER worksite climbed to the 50 °C range. To continue work—and protect workers—a series of measures was implemented: the morning shifts began earlier, longer pauses were granted, and cool mist vaporizers were installed throughout the worksite. Brightly coloured umbrellas complemented the heat protection system, giving casual observers the impression that an ����é�����پ��� was being served on the beachfront.
